Where do you get your daily news from?

100 years ago, people read newspapers for the latest news.

50 years ago, people watched broadcast television news and still read papers for the in-depth coverage.

In 2009, the newspapers are failing and television news is spread out over many stations and even they are losing their viewers.

IMO, the internet has changed the way we view our daily news, almost instantly (as with Twitter) and provided (for the most part) free to anyone with an internet-capable device.

Tell us where you get your daily news..

Hi Edward

IMHO, the internet has replaced the town crier, and has done a far better job than newpapers or TV.

The latter attempts to portray news in the way they want you to view it, the former allows you to form your own opinions, to the fury of others.

I think that folks who write blogs are doing essentially what we are doing in NewsForum, namely writing a story and inviting others to comment on it. But, bloggers tend to slant their posted story one way or the other, which I disagree with.

Whereas news web sites which are also on tv, aren't most of them balanced in their reports?

And of course, there is a ton of other web sites who also push out stories that remind me of the National Enquirer, not true unless one is heavily medicated, which is a nice way of putting it. <g>

I am sure people are wondering why I even posted this poll.. It came about because of the latest viewership of the various TV news channels in the USA and the numbers are very low when compared to the overall population. So I was curious about that, hence the poll.

*smile* not speaking of blogs, which I generally ignore, but more legitimate news sources, especially European, like the ones in Scotland.

News.of course, comes from all kinds of media, but un-fortunately today  many of the papers are owned by political  parties,so each one has something differfent to say in regard to a the same subject, so I just  listen as I hear them talk on T V and then just make up my oWN mind!
