I imagine that five-pound tub represented quite a bit more than one jar. The article doesn't say whether they continued to test all the tubs in the manufacturing facility. In addition, it was imperative that they find and correct the source of contamination before distributing any of their product.
Only a handful of states had no cases of Salmonella. The article didn't specify whether all the cases under consideration were the same strain as the one King Nut strain of organism, but I would assume so, or they wouldn't likely have included them in the investigation.
