It was announced this evening that Mary Travers of Peter, Paul and Mary fame lost her battle with leukemia at the age of 72. She will be missed. PP&M was once described as "two beards and a blonde angel."

God rest her soul.

So shocked and saddened to hear of her death, I didn't even know she had been sick. Mary was so full of life and she had such a presence on stage. She brought so much to the group. I remember their music growing up and loved all their songs. We used to sing "Blowing in the Wind" at my church youth group. Thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.

a real loss--i was pleased to hear that she had kept up her political activism all these years. she lived a good life. ..............karen.....

She had suffered from leukemia for about 2 years. Sadly, as it all too often happens, that form of cancer went into remission, only to come back with a vengeance.

I saw PP&M back around 1968, and enjoyed their concert. I still have their first album and the live album on LP.
