SHARE MEMORIES: 'KING OF POP' MICHAEL JACKSON DIES

Michael Jackson, the 'King of Pop' who became a household name as part of the Jackson 5 and during a record-setting solo music career, has died at the age of 50. 

The Los Angeles Times reports that Jackson suffered cardiac arrest and was found not breathing when paramedics, who performed CPR, arrived to his home and was rushed to hospital.  The singer had recently been in rehearsals for a comeback tour set to begin in July.

As part of one of the most famous Motown groups in history, Jackson rose to fame alongside his brothers in the Jackson 5 with hits like 'I Want You Back,' 'Dancing Machine' and 'I'll Be There.'

Jackson would then turn pop culture on its ear with his best-selling album, 'Thriller,' which spawned seven Top 10 hits, including 'Beat It,' 'Billie Jean' and the title track.  His signature 'moonwalk' dance was the subject of millions of imitators -- but no duplicators!

The singer also remained in the public eye for less desirable reasons, including a much-publicized child abuse and molestation trials, a marriage to Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis Presley's daughter, and plastic surgeries that left him appearing, to many, as a shadow of his former self. 

However, although headlines threatened to damage his reputation, no one could deny the talent that was the 'King of Pop,' and the entertainment that he provided to millions of audience members and music lovers over the years will remain his most lasting legacy.  Find out more.

I cant imagine the pain his family is going through. Michael was a very talented man. We all have perks and who are we to judge him. My heart goes out to his family . I am just a fan and I am sadden by the news!!! Family know that he is in a better place and he will suffer no more and look to God for your Strength. May God continue to bless you all.

i was so happy to read your condolences to MJ.  people judged him so bad yet brought so much joy to those who's listened to his music. i mean all !!!!!  the gov. who made the comment about him being a pedefile, molester, and all the other bad things that were said, if he goes to church of believes in God he will be judged just like all of us. peace to micheal may his music live on for generations to come and let our grandchildren know of him.  and God Bless is family and your.

I liked Micheal's music. God be with you and your family at this time of great grief. He was a great talent that will be missed. People are cruel. But in the end God is the one that has the final say. God Bless you all. May Micheal rest in peace.
