Hi all,

The deadline for the Where in the World is Spymaster's Lady contest is fast approaching- lots of good entries so far, and I'm about to go post them on my blog (now that Janet has worked her magic, and my Internet connecton has simultaneously agreed to play). Also going up in the next day will be a better pic of the bookmark you could win.

There's a possibility that we might extend the contest deadline by a week or so to capitalise on a potential new source of entrants... Not to mention attention for Jo... More on that soon...

(What would a TSL contest be without a little mystery, huh?)

Hi Jo,

I finished  the SPYMASTER'S LADY and just loved it! Wrote a rave review, but Beth knocked it down to the genre fiction section where no one will ever see it. So go look when you get a chance. I'll post it on Amazon, too.

Brava, my dear. You had me from page 1.

Hi Lynne --

Oh, you liked it !  Oh, oh.  Good, good good.

<jo dances>

I love it when folks like SL.  I am such a simple fool.  Baquette, coffee, good clementines, somebody likes SL.  Complete happiness.

Hi Claire --

"Spymasters in Gnowangerup"

but ... says the reader plaintively ... if he's going to go climbing off into the gnowangerup, shouldn't he leave his clothes on?  Those things have six-inch-long thorns ...

Oh Barbara -

You are so .. <sniff>  ... I just cannot tell you how that makes me feel.  I am suffering from 'writer imposter syndrome' in a real bad way and it helps so much when somebody says SL was good.

My Lord and Spymaster is giving me fits.  Superagent says 'It's fine.'  Supereditor says, 'They have a name for this.  It's called second book syndrome."

I love it when they have names for stuff, don't you?

"'It's called second book syndrome.'"

Fwiw, I don't believe you <g> I love your voice!

Jo -

Delurking here to give you a heads up (you've probably already seen it, but just in case) that SL - and this contest - was once again highlighted on SBTB today.  Above the fold, even.

Expect more entries.  *g*

(My own humble offering is sitting on my camera phone, waiting for an upload.  I hope to snap a few more, but there're just not that many really thrilling locations here in the heart of the Bluegrass, and it's too cold to find many horses out and about...)

Hi Jenny and all,

Yes, that's the bit of news I was alluding to last night- our Janet managed to get this contest featured on Smart Bitches, so we've officially extended the deadline to February 28th, and I'm currently squeeeeeeing myself about it <vbg>. If nothing else, this ought to bring additional exposure for Jo! Let's see if it goes completely crazy from here...

And, since I'm feeling almost half-human, I managed to download a couple pix I took at lunch on Mardi Gras.

Costumes were light on the ground in the area where I was, but I found a few folks in costume and asked if they'd pose with the book.

They were all most lovely about it. :)

It probably helped that my lunch was between parades.

Hi Deniz --

That is so wonderful of you.  I really appreciate it.

I got the cover proofs for My Lord and Spymaster, so I figure I can download the covers now.   Let's see if it works.

The girl with the tasteful shoulderblades is on the cover.  The art is 'flopped' so it's mirror image.  They're really pretty.

Barbara,

Why would no one see it in Genre Fiction? Every time I come here, I get shown all the latest messages, in every section. It's not like the book sections are hidden behind curtains or something.

Just because it doesn't engender a big thread, doesn't mean it won't be read and appreciated.

Beth,

Just teasing. I really wanted to encourage anyone who hasn't already done so to read Jo's book, and thought the message would be seen by more if it were in one of the more-travelled sections. But it looks like the book is getting tons of coverage already, which is a Very Good Thing.
