Firstly, welcome to the Forum. I think you'll find you can learn more than perceptions by visiting here if you are truly interested in answering your questions. You should consider that from day one in most school systems the history of Non-African American is taught. Up until very recently there was nothing mentioned about the many inventions and discoveries made by people of color.
As for as hearing about black networks they are usually owned by white men and presented as being black. Even if they were how many ESPN's and other sports channels are there that don't cover any minority sporting events like HBCU football games, but yet there is a large percentage of players in the NFL from these schools so if there weren't stations that catered to African Americans these kids would never get to play on television.
I could go on about this forever but have found people rarely are open to different perceptions, you appear convinced this is some sort of conspiracy when in essence all it is is an attempt to reflect the true nature of a people and offset many of the incorrect assumptions that exist and this hurts you how?
