I purchased the Jet Bag a few months ago to use for my Mira and I am very disappointed.   I wanted to use it instead of my regular case but found that it was just too flimsy and I feel like the Mira will just fall out, although, I'm sure it won't.  It's not secure at all.  If it were raining or drizzling, there are so many gaps that the machine would get wet.  I can't imagine that someone would have designed something as shabby as this and charge $45 dollars.    Because there's just one strap across you can put your hands through the sides without any protection.   I now have to use it inside of my regular case for extra protection.  I will not and cannot just carry this over my shoulder.  Horribly designed and so so disappointed that I wasted my money!!!.  Come on Stenograph, come out with a better product that makes us feel that our $5,000 machine is well protected!!!

I actually just purchased this same item and it was delivered on Friday.  I was pleasantly surprised and quite thrilled with it.  Maybe we're not looking for the same product because I never thought I'd use mine flinging it over my shoulder and walking into the rain.  I like to purchase off-the-shelf luggage for my equipment.  My problem with off-the-shelf luggage is that the Mira doesn't have its own compartment and rubs against the separators, which can cause issues with my key pads, for one.  When I ordered the bag, I was worried it was going to be softer than it is.  With the hard shell-like body, I can slip it into ANY off-the-shelf luggage and my Mira is protected.

This jet bag is advertised for people traveling on a "jet"..... It's not meant to be put in another case to protect your writer, although, that's how I'm using it now.  If that were the case, I wouldn't be writing saying how disappointed I am.

This is ONLY advertised for people who travel.  And to make such a flimsy "jet bag" that opens on the sides, not protected from inclement weather or from anything, is ridiculous.

Check your wheeled case with your other luggage and transfer your machine back into it when you arrive at your destination.

Maybe you were really needing this one:  http://stenograph.com/productdetails.aspx?id=170001&subid=180001&childid=5920001&prodid=37983

Thanks, but I have all those cases.  I was solely looking for that Jet Bag, thought it would be a great idea to use, but it didn't work out that way.  Oh well, live and learn.

Yep.  Too bad you didn't post this before last Monday because I would have bought yours from you.  Personally, I hate dealing with Stenograph (first thing I did was rip the Stenograph emblem off)... But I do love this Jet Bag.

FWIW, I used a Jet Bag for my Mira and I now use my Jet Bag for my Diamante. I travel extensively and have experienced a lot of different types of weather and my writer has never gotten wet. When the case is closed properly, I cannot easily put my hands through the sides.  It is secure and I find it very easy to carry the writer over my shoulder.  I use this bag whenever I anticipate that my regular rolling bag (either Pirouette or Apex) may be a little too big to fit in the overhead compartment (e.g. small commuter planes with very limited over-head space).

Cathy:

While I can understand why you might be reluctant to believe that a salaried employee of Stenograph would provide an unbiased opinion of products sold by Stenograph products, please accept my assurance that I'm simply relating my personal, firsthand experience.  I'm not a sales rep and I'm not trying to sell anything to anyone.  I like my Jet Bag, I like the design, that it's light but sturdy and that it is useful and practical for my own purposes. That's all.  I'm sorry to hear your experience is different.

I never even heard of that site until you mentioned it...  I do use the Jet Bag, but unfortuantely not for the reason I bought it for.  I put my Mira in that bag and then put it in my wheelie bag.  I wanted to just carry it alone, but not happening.  I will look into that site for other purposes though.  Thanks

Cathy, my JetBag for the Mira is apparently like yours.  If it were raining outside, no way would I carry it over my shoulder. Maybe we got a bad lot or something.  The top and bottom just don't fit well together on mine, and I've always wished it zipped up.  I will say, though, that the JetBag I got for my Diamante is totally different.  It is a very snug fit and doesn't have the gaps where the top and bottom meet.

Stenograph should refund our money, just a thought!!  Yeah, right, that will never happen.

I don't know what Stenograph's policy is on returning items such as that.  I didn't buy the JetBag for either machine with the sole purpose of throwing it over my shoulder.  I bought it as better protection in my rolling back, which both are great for that.  I don't know how long you've had the bag, but if you were unhappy right away, perhaps you could have gotten a refund or credit or something.

I found this on the SG Web site:
"Stenograph is confident that the products we offer are of the highest quality and that you will be completely satisfied with your purchase. Should a circumstance arise where an item does not fulfill Stenograph's written product descriptions, we will, at our discretion, replace or repair the item to meet our customary standards. Due to their nature, the following product types cannot be returned for credit or refund: computer software, content on digital media such as CD, DVD, or tape, training courses, service and support agreements, custom-printed items and Stenograph writing machines. All new Stenograph writing machines include a One Year Commercial Warranty certificate.

"Other products, if purchased directly from Stenograph and not through a distributor or leasing company, can be returned with pre-approval by Stenograph Customer Service if they are in their original condition and returned within thirty days of receipt. A 15% (of retail price) processing fee will be deducted from your credit or refund on approved returns. A Return Authorization (RA) number must accompany any returns for proper credit to be given. Request a return authorization by contacting us between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Central Time."

Cathy,

One person here has told you that Stenograph refunded the price of a foot pedal, yet the only messages here you've replied to -- or so it seems at this point -- are those which enable you to complain about Stenograph and Cindi.

Why don't you just give Stenograph a call and see if you can return the bag.   End of story.
