and in one of these articles the names of the mother and live-in boyfriend surface...Seems the mother is mentally challenged..not sure about the boyfriend....

(The photo at the right shows the lane leading back to the residence occupied by Shannon's parents Christina Mercer and Rusty Dedrick)

Heard from Shannon's aunt in Texas this morning and she would like area residents to know that Shannon's mother, Christina, suffers from a growth development problem that may have been passed down to her daughter.  The problem includes a somewhat larger than average head, which her aunt says should make it easier to spot Shannon..

http://www.fosterfollynews.com/news/2009Nov1MissingChild.php

Like the monkey said as he backed into the fan..."It won't be long now" and that's my take on this case...only chit-brains could think LE could believe such a story as to Shannon's "missing"....IMO, that child never had a chance!

Morning Foxy,  well this confirms what I suspected when I saw the pics of that baby.  No telling what happened to her.  Sad.

Good morning, fellow early bird! Am hoping today we'll hear more about just what did happen to baby Shannon....I'm wondering if both caretakers are mentally challenged or whatever how in the world can they be expected to raise that baby /if there was follow-up after she was born?

You too, huh?  Up with the chickens.

Another thing I noticed when reading the articles in the link you posted.  Shannon weighs 11 lbs and is 7 mos old.  My children weighed that much when they were 2 months old.  She must be tiny.  What little TV I've seen this a.m. is all about yesterday's elections.  Maybe something about Shannon will be on later today.

Yeahhhhhhh....couldn't sleep...Kids are taking their dad to the Ross Medical Center today at Ohio State for his Aortic Valve replacement in the morning...He's had all his tests and scheduled for surgery Thurs. morning...Youngest Son is flying in from Ark. to Columbus meeting them at a hotel close to the hospital..I know his Dad will feel good about them all being together for him. If there's a chance I'll get to run out there(about a 2-hr. drive)am going to do it....it's iffy, tho.....so that's on my mind.

the mother is tiny, I read.........about 5 ft. if that and around 90 lbs. or so...has a growth development disorder....so maybe the baby inherited this..or was a preemie when born ....dunno.......

Hi Sarah and thanks.........Yes...Daughter and I had taked about your surgery and knowing how serious it is, we felt it best to have the kids there until he's in the clear......His health really hasn't been good since he had the triple bypass (done locally)and all the infections so Daughter had him referred to the best at Ohio State......the Ross Medical Center...Columbus. He was up there a couple of weeks ago going through all the tests but had to come home to have 3 teeth removed...there was to be not one grain of infection in his body before this surgery and I can understrand why...he's has blood results faxed to Ross and just yesterday they wanted urine sample results so Daughter took him up to our local, had it done and they faxed the results out to Ross. So far so good and he's all packed and ready to go this afternoon...They're going to meet my Jeff's plane in Columbus so they'll all go to the Center and wait it out with him.....I know by the kids being there for him and pep-talking him am hoping they keep him in a good frame of mind.....he's been a good dad to them all these years and they love him dearly........we've always stayed friends for the kids and have always been there for them so now all we can do is pray he'll pull through with flying colors...I'll keep you informed as to how it goes.  Like I've told my kids..."Let go and let God"...He's in the Director's seat now. So we wait....

That's the hard part!!!

Letting go and letting God just comes so unnaturally to folks used to working toward their own goals... (voice of experience<G>)

When we realize it is completely out of our hands and up to God, it is amazing
the calmness that can come over you...not one fear did I have. Whatever would be,
would be.

Talking about infections near the time of valve replacement....you know my colon
ruptured four months before my heart surgery. I was in ICU and hospital 3 times
longer thenthan for the heart surgery. Heart surgeon would not touch me until
all my infection had cleared up and I regained a little strength. Cindy did
not realize the seriousness of the rupture until she compared the time in the
hospitals. So, she said the heart surgery must "have been a piece of cake". LOL

I don't blame you for wanting the best hospital around for this surgery....more
patients, better doctors, more experience, etc. That's why I chose UAB and the
head doctor of the Heart Center instead of the local hospital. He also did my
first valve replacement.

I told him he better not ever retire! He said "Retire? What's that?" LOL

I guess some of the focus is on the babysitter now.   But how could a babysitter go into the house, take the baby and no one heard a thing.      Something is not right here.  Unless the parents and babysitter are in cahoots.
