I wish I'd been able to meet Margaret (and you too, of course). She looks like the kind of person anyone would be thrilled to know.

I've got a photo of me in Kew Gardens taken in 1971, around here somewhere, but it doesn't have nearly the same character. :)

Dear Paula,

Thank you for making such a great improvement to the picture. Fortunately it was from a set of pictures that have not faded very much or acquired a yellow or pink hue.

I still have some more photos to look at but am getting near the end of them.

It does seem that glossy photos fare better over time than the matt ones.

Marte,

Margaret was a kind and caring woman who was very much loved by all who knew and worked with her.

To say that I miss her terribly is an understatement, I wish I had taken more pictures of her during our years together.

I do have a lot of colour slides somewhere but nothing to view them on or to scan them with. My projector died a long time ago and they have been put away in a box somewhere for many years.

It's an amazing thing, sometimes, how much old photos can be fixed up, so even the ones that seem quite damaged might still be candidates for a successful sprucing. I hope that looking through the old photos is bringing back wonderful memories.
