Dear All,

I happily share that on October 30, 2009 there was

a legal notice in our local paper announcing the

closure of an abortion facility in our area.  For many years

peaceful, prayerful demonstrations took place.   We

must keep the peaceful prayer days and vigils going!

(There were no headlines in the local paper about this.)

This closing took place after a "40 Days for Life"

campaign in Pensacola, FL.

Peace,  Dot

Whenever an abortion mill closes that is indeed good news, whatever reason or reasons there are that it closed.

I would tihnk it unlikely a local paper would publish a story on the closing unless that facility itself had been lately often in the news, or it had become a local long term instittuion, like a store closing after being a family business for 99 years. We might deem it important, but in general news most likely would not think it more newsworthy than the close of a local grocery store. Right or wriong, I suspect that is most likely why, and not an agenda, not much was written of it in the paper. [this varies of coruse with the nature of your local paper and what it tends to cover or not].

Chris,

<<I would tihnk it unlikely a local paper would publish a story on the closing unless that facility itself had been lately often in the news, or it had become a local long term instittuion, like a store closing after being a family business for 99 years.>>

That facility had been there for approximately 20 years.

The local paper here is not pro-life.  Their stance goes beyond what is pro-life.  Many have cancelled those newspapers some time ago.

There is another, smaller, out-of-the-way abortion facility here that we will continue to pray about.

Peace,

Dot

Hi Dot...

That's Good News we can ALL use, especially when so much is not reported that is good. People of prayer get the victory.

Naturally, the papers will not report something they don't support.

Thanks for sharing this.

Yes!   And what happened is encouraging..... yet there is a long way to go to shine His Light  bright enough so that others will recognize Him, and then He can change their minds!

Dot...

I know what you mean.

I am surrounded by kids that are so lost...I mean really LOST. They have not been raised in the love of Jesus. Not only this, but because of the crazy corrupt world we live in, all it does is harden their already hard hearts.

One boy in particular has been raised with his Wiccan aunt (very nice woman) but she taught him that he should not have to bow the knee to anyone and that no one should tell him what he can and can not do. She especially drove this idea home to him when she found out we were Christians.

Most of my daughter's friends are now Christian because she's out of public school, but she has remained friends with some who aren't. The ones who are not Christian don't recognize that anything is wrong or out of bounds...although most do consider 'abortion' abhorant, even the lost among them. They know that this is a 'baby' growing and they are not so far gone that they don't know that if the pregnancy is stopped, this means a 'baby' had to die, meaning the baby was murdered. I tell them what the procedure does to a human life. I think for the young, because they are only (at this point) 14 years from their own birth, it sinks in.

Anyway, I rejoice at this news! I do believe the young can still be reached, although it is the older folks who really keep this abortion law alive and kicking - so it is awesome to hear that one of the enemies haunts has been shut DOWN! I praise God for all those faithful saints in vigilent prayer over this matter.

Yes, we see this sad scene all around us.  Children and adults fit into this category.

We need to keep on praying and doing what we can.  Opportunities do arise where we can say or do something to plant a seed in someone's mind. (I'm sure you do that.)

I can think of many instances in my life where someone gently said something I didn't want to hear; and over the years (or sometimes right away!) it worked and a piece of wisdom came to me.

We need to keep on praying, sharing, and hoping. :)

We can challenge the untruths we hear every day by sharing the Lord's perspective, with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 5:20  "....where sin abounds grace abounds all the more  "

"Hope springs eternal in the human breast" -( a line from the poem "An Essay on Man" by Alexander Pope.)  http://rpo.library.utoronto.ca/poem/1637.html

We have time!  :)

Peace,

Dot

Again, this reads too much into the silence of the papers. They might, if agenda driven here, make such a closing front page news to CONPLAIN about the fact, just as much as they might exclude it.

In such matters I think we must avoid beign tempted to evaluate all the actions of others in terms of how they MIGHT relate to our own agenda. Their motivation or concerns may not match up with ours in many thigns. They may of course be silent in resentment, or speak in resentment, of such a closing, or they may not think it worthy of beign reported in the paper as they see it as a minor busness change that has little impact on what they see as important. We don't know, and should not assume one way or the other.

This is more good news, Dot, and I think prayers are being answered around the country.  A story that did make headlines is the story of the director of a Planned Parenthood Clinic in Texas.  After seeing an abortion on ultrasound she quit the clinic and joined a Right to Life group down the street.  I first read about it at Lifenews.com but the story has been picked up nationally.  Here's a link to the FOX story...   LINK

Keep praying people!  :o)

peace, Gerry

And, the Lord who alone can bring about good from evil, can bring about good from the shooting tragedies now in the news.

Judith,

When a woman in that situation chooses the heroic

way and decides to bear the innocent child, the Lord

will be right beside her.

Certainly it is a difficult struggle to make that decision,

but with God all things are possible; only God can

turn evil into good.

She will need to keep trusting Him all along the way,

and the Lord will make it up to her a thousandfold.

Peace,  Dot

<<< I just heard about a rapist who killed all the woman he raped. Here is my question if one of those woman lived and was pregnant by him. And she wanted an abortion should that be denied that right!

Why is that baby supposed to be doomed to death for something he or she did not do?
How is that right?
How does killing an innocent baby restore justice?
Does the mother get satisfaction for killing her baby?
Or is it just one more evil deed?
Remember, two wrongs do not make a right.

From Judith:

Why should the victim carry a baby of a killer? God is the best judge of cases like those! I don't think he will punish the victim for aborting an unwanted pregnancy under those circumstances!
