Is Milk Good For You? is the headline of an article that appears in this morning's The Washington Post newspaper washingtonpost.com in the Lean & Fit Section. I read the article in its entirety, and with all the back and forth from various organizations discussing whether or milk is good for anyone past the teething stage is still not answered.
Each of the groups mentioned in the article either said to the effect, 'yes, our bones need the calcium because plant based calcium has fiber that prevents absorption by the colon', or 'no, humans are the only mammal that drinks milk as adults. Plus, most humans have a lactose intolerance to milk'.
Do you drink milk, and do you think it's good for you after we grow older? What do you think of dairy products in general to maintain good health? If we eliminate milk from our diets, how do we eat ice cream?
