Exactly my experience.

In my experience ladies are far more adept at perceiving and expressing color than are men.

Color blindness is far more common in men than in women.  My wife can distinguish thirty-eight different shades of sage.

Jim Grey assigns that difference to our origins. Hunter-Gatherers. The hunter only had to see the big gray thing and have the strength to bring it down while the gatherers  had to distinguish the state of development of that vegetable or fruit by its color.

On rare occasion you meet a man more capable in color discernment than the average woman. 

My best friend is an artist of note. His wife scored 100% on the test on the second try while the fellow applying color to canvas or paper got frustrated and quit.

Yet the Grand Masters of art are invariably men.

And the great Chefs are men too. Perhaps there is a bit of Chauvinism in the situation or the women were to busy raising children to splash about with paint.

Being involved with the art community here I have some pieces on my wall painted by women. No masters but collectible. History gets to establish their level of accomplishment. Then there is Marion's daughter here who is having some success with her art.

OK, now I got it.  I eliminated the colortest.swf ending and got a page where I clicked parent directory and was able to select color test.  My first try was 13%, second 88%.

And you are probably a better cook than I am.<G>
