Others call it appeasement. Dressing modestly is not the same thing as adopting the local costume, and officials of the United States have never done so previously, as far as I know.

A yarmulke is our male 'local costume' if you will, nothing to do with modesty. And Sec. Clinton didn't get down on anyone's knees; She and Obama aren't interchangeable, of course.
You're big enough to admit small errors IMO.
