I recently acquired a HP dv-3080 laptop which includes an Express Slot. Sadly I cannot continue using my beloved Audigy 2ZS PCMCIA sound card which incldes the all time most effective Smart Recorder.

Is there an adapter you have found to be effective and reliable to be able to use a PCMCIA card with an Express Slot.

Most of the adabpters I have read about so far are reportedly unreliable, lack technical support and many just don't work.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I haven't looked around at these recently but when those Express slots first came out I did and the only adapter I found was from the UK and dedicated to one specific purpose. They stated that the two different types of slot were different in much more than physical dimensions.

There are now many adapters but ....

where the answer on compatibility is NO.

I suspect the best answer you could hope for would have to be specific to that one Audigy card -- do they have any suggestions?

I've no experience of any of them. Checked out the website you linked to and firstly:

which is the wrong way round for you.

and in general their reference to RF and so on fits in with what I found out earlier that for some reason those adapters on the market seem to be for wireless cards.

I can only suggest you ask them specifically about your card.
