"Water and air, the two essential fluids on which all life depends, have become global garbage cans. -- Jacques Cousteau" from the Green Calendar
I am delighted to report that effective the first of October (a bit over two weeks ago) Connecticut put a deposit on all plastic water bottles! <happy dance> I figure I pick up more water bottles than soda/beer bottles/cans each morning when I walk my circuit... but stores are allowed to sell off their stock that doesn't have the deposit marked on each container. I suppose that's fair to the store owners? In the meantime, I haven't yet discovered whether bottled tea or vitamin water or other energy drinks will also carry a deposit. I hope so! It could make my regular grocery runs MUCH more profitable, being able to feed all those bottles/cans into the recycling machines!!!
Blessed Be!
