another embarrassing display of being off the teleprompter, yesterday,
during several minutes of blathering about some conference at the
Interior Department before he finally talked about the Ft. Hood
murders, the big O said "I hear that Dr. Joe Medicine Crow was around,
and so I want to
give a shout out to that Congressional Medal of Honor winner. It's good
to see you." The problem is Joe Medicine Crow is not a recipient of
the Medal Of Honor. He was awarded the Medal Of Freedom, by Obama,
just this past August.
He didn't endear himself to the Hood community, nor anyone else in central Texas dealing wiht this attack. Bush however, met with the victims privately, no press, and has everyone's utmost respect.
Cass De oppresso liber. A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life wrote a blank check Made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -- click to go to site |
