This week's SOD features interviews with Ari Zucker, Galen Gering and Ali Sweeney, and this week's SOW features an interview with Galen Gering.
Nicole learns that Rafe is in town, and she turns to Stefano for help. He hires an assassin to kill Rafe. Ari Zucker explains that this is not what Nicole wanted. "When she hears those words from Stefano, she's like, 'Wait, I didn't sign up for that. It's bad enough Baker got it.'" Meanwhile, when EJ learns of Stefano's plan, he rushes out of the house.
On the pier, Rafe learns from his FBI contact that Sydney is indeed Sami's daughter. Then, Rafe hears a gunshot. Galen Gering explains to SOD, "He hears [the gunshot] and ducks for cover and inadvertently hits himself on the head." When Rafe comes to, he sees EJ standing there. Rafe initially thinks EJ fired the gunshot, but EJ tells Rafe that it was a hitman, and EJ shows Rafe that the hitman is now unconscious. Gering explains that Rafe is confused since he hates EJ, but EJ saved his life.
Rafe and EJ are taken to the police station for questioning, but as soon as he can leave, Rafe quickly goes to Sami to tell her the news. Ali Sweeney explains that Rafe tells Sami the news quickly, but then Sami doesn't believe him at first: "She almost feels like believing this is a betrayal to Grace." When Sami does begin to believe what Rafe is telling her, she tries to piece things together and figure out exactly how Nicole did this. Rafe explains the entire story to her and fills her in. Sweeney says that Sami feels betrayed by Nicole, since Sami and Nicole have built somewhat of a friendship. "By the end of the episode... she wants to get her daughter and she might kill Nicole."
Sami wants to call Nicole, but Rafe tells Sami that they have to have a plan, since once Nicole learns that they've figured things out, she'll try to run away with Sydney. Rafe then finds out from Daniel that Chloe has Sydney, while Sami goes back to her apartment because her phone dies. Sami sees Nicole there trying to steal the money that Sami had offered her previously when she was trying to help her. "Sami walks in on her, and it all comes out," concludes Sweeney.
