Honestly, I was unimpressed with the monologue and the Jerry/Oprah appearance................The timeliness of the Kanye West debacle made it minimally interesting.............One can only hope it gets better.......( I'd hate to think that I'd have to wait until Fergusen comes on a few hours later in the early AM just to get my laughs.......... ) -

I enjoy Jay because he is far more relaxed than Letterman. Letterman has become so biased that I end up turning him off. Jay's show needs more structure with regular humorous bits that viewers can look can look forward to watching i.e.,Interviewing people on the street, headlines, etc. I am sick of biased political comments. Jay can do it! Let's hope he gets on the ball and digs to find more funny bits.

Both my husband and I LOVE it - we're tired of all the reality shows.  Jay is a breath of fresh air and on early enought
to enjoy the show now.   Thanks for keeping him NBC!!!

Personally, I've watched most of every episode.  I hope it goes over big, but I do think there will have to be some changes before that happens.

First, I was surprised at how rusty he looked when the show started.  His timing was off, his jokes were mediocre and he seemed to struggle through it.  I don't know if it was nerves, or if he has a relatively new staff that he isn't sure of, but he didn't perform like he did.

Second, the new interviewing method has to change.  Jay looks like a fish out of water with no desk and nothing to help him conduct the interview.  Also, the guests look awkward.  I think they liked the idea of being able to sip from a cup and place it down somewhere.  Subconsciously, I think the coffee table provided a barrier and a sense of security to the guest, and now they no longer have it.  For some guests it also provided an additional prop for them to use when telling stories or when they acted whacky.

The 10@10 has been hit and miss, mainly miss.  Too many of the guests have been using it to try out their own comedy act.  And the questions are weak at best.  Instead of turning into to a interesting informational segment on the guest it has turned into a bad amateur night at the comedy club.  And saving Leno's classic bits for the last 5 minutes is a mistake.  It allows no room for expanding the segment if it is going really well and it shapes the show like a donut - watch the first and last 10 minutes because there is nothing in the middle.

I love Jay and am one of his biggest fans, but if he wants to keep this job he needs to look at correcting some of these errors.

I like Jay a lot but the new format is not very good. He needs to put the "Headlines" back at the beginning of the show and he needs to bring back the desk. It is too awkward just sitting in two chairs. Some of the skits are not very good. He needs to drop the 10 at 10. That is a bad idea.

I always watched the Tonight Show when he was on it but am very disappointed in this show.  Go back to the old format and guests.

Jay's Tonight Show was much more polished. His best Tonight Shows were during the writers strike. Jay appears to have taken this new show to a more casual level. Perhaps he should replace the suite with a sports coat, because it would fit into the show better. The stints he brought over from the Tonight Show are still very good and enjoyable as are the interviews with the stars. It's some of the new stints that are a bit corney. I have no idea what was to be gained from the Pee Wee Herman salad-bar incident.

I'd really like to see Jay take us to his Garage once a week or more.

We love you like family, but maybe it is time to retire from prime time.  The show is too choppy, all the segments seem rushed. We will continue to watch and we hope the show will get better soon.

Sorry Jay but the show sucks. Why don't you develop a show based on your love for and collection of vintage vehicles. That would be a big hit in a growing niche market a la Orange County Choppers. That, I would be happy to watch!

The Jay Leno show needs to clean up its language and

immoral references if it is going to continue on prime time.

In fact clean it up period.  Why do these shows think they

have to inject bad language and immorality to be humorous?

I do like his "Jaywalking" segment.   We need to bring back

the slap stick comedy shows like "I Love Lucy" and shows

of that caliber.  I won't be watching Jay or Letterman anymore.

Jay Leno is too smarmy for me and he is always touching the guests which totally turns me off.  Even if he is meeting someone for the first time he touches them, the shoulder, the arm, a pat her and there.  Too friendly and phony.  And all the guests are his buddies?  I hardly think so.  He always brags how late he stays up (he needs only 4 hours sleep) to get his jokes written for the next day's show but most of his jokes have already been used by others and picked up on the Internet.  I don't care when he is on, I don't watch him if I can help it.  The deal he made with NBC is pitiful.  Other top ranking shows that were on at ten had to be shuffled to other days and times just to accomodate him.  He is not that good but he must have some power over the big shots or he is an NBC shareholder.

When Carson left us they should have retired the "Tonight Show" name.  He was the best and treated people so well.  Leno took over and turned it into a day at the circus and he is not the ringmaster but one of the clowns.

Amen to these comments. I stayed up late for Johnny C., but not for any of the others. Yes, bring back the desk, table, etc.. Those items highlighted the guests and Johnny much better. The new set is too spacious and being spread out does not work. The smaller band is ok, but they are so far away from Jay! I liked the "headlines" also - very funny and hard to believe some of them were actually printed in a newspaper! Where are the proofreaders!

I want to be entertained not bored. Better guests would help also. I'm hoping the show improves, but let;s also hope it starts looking like they care about improving. I will say the Tonight Show is the best of all of them.
