Hello,

I just got a new computer with Windows XP because I don't like Vista. Now I find that some video files play on Windows Media Player in the negative. It's version 9 for what that is worth. Any suggestions?

thanks,
Dennis

Hi Dennis,

Do you mean that they won't play? Anyway, you can try upgrading Windows Media Player to Version 11 through Windows Update (since Version 11 is the current version supported by Windows XP).

If this doesn't work, you can also try downloading and installing the free codec pakage at:-

http://www.cccp-project.net/

If the videos won't play because of missing codecs, this package apparently fixes many of these sorts of problems.

Hi Keith,

They would play but the colors were opposite what they should be, like a color print photograph negative would look like. I downloaded version 10 and all seems to be well now.

Thanks,
Dennis
